Our Projects

be the influence

Be the Influence (BTI) is a parenting program that empowers parents with factual information and the tools to support their children in making healthy and safe choices. BTI supports parents by providing tips for talking to teens, an online directory of other BTI Parents at their school, newsletters and blogs, and tips for hosting a substance-free party.

Our Trusted Adults Taskforce works to increase adults’ knowledge about substance use and supporting youth by providing trainings, promoting the SpeakNow campaign, and providing online opportunities for adults and youth-serving professionals to learn how they can support young people.

Our Funding

Denver Partnership for Youth Success is funded by a grant from The Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health to conduct a strategic assessment and planning process and implement evidence-based environmental prevention strategies in Denver.

Our Process

We use SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), a planning process for preventing substance use and misuse, as the foundation for our efforts. As part of our process, we identify key risk and protective factors that contribute to youth substance use, select substance abuse prevention strategies, implement environmental prevention strategies, and evaluate program impact. It’s essential for us to have a clear understanding of community needs so we involve our members in all stages of the planning and execution process to ensure our efforts are appropriate and sustainable.
