A thriving community ensures all youth have the opportunity to succeed.
Denver Partnership for Youth Success coalition has been formed to ensure all Denver youth have the opportunity to succeed by making healthy choices. Recent data shows:
10% of Denver youth have misused prescription drugs sometime in their lifetime
55% of Denver youth drank alcohol sometime in their lifetime
46% of Denver youth have used marijuana sometime in their lifetime
Empowering youth so they can effectively deal with peer pressure or social situations where drugs and alcohol are present can help to reduce those numbers. Working together, we can help build a thriving community for Denver youth by providing education and resources to prevent youth substance use and misuse.
What We Do
Facilitated by Denver Public Health, the Denver Partnership for Youth Success (DPYS) is a community coalition working to address three of the nation’s top substance abuse prevention priorities: drinking, marijuana use, and prescription drug misuse among youth in Denver. We were formed to help ensure all Denver youth have the opportunity to succeed by making healthy choices. We use the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration’s Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnership for Success as the foundation for our efforts.
Your Help Matters
We work together to create an environment where all Denver youth have the opportunity to succeed.
With your help, we can make a difference! We are looking for coalition members to share their expertise and thoughts on how to help Denver youth live healthy and happy lives. Convening monthly, the coalition members work together to create specific strategies, educational resources, and plans to reduce substance use and misuse by Denver’s youth.
